OUR MISSION

To warm lives and kindle lasting relationships by bringing the essential element of fire to life.

WHO WE ARE

At Alpine Stove & Fireplace, our vision and values define us. That translates into an exceptional customer experience because we care enough to take the time to understand your needs and provide you with personalized solutions tailored to fit your desires and your budget.

WHAT WE DO

First, we listen. We help you explore options. Then, we use creative expertise to make sure that your project is done with timely professionalism.  And our in-house certified service technicians are here every step of the way, whether you need a precision installation, a multi-point inspection on an old fireplace,  or regular annual maintenance and check-ups.   If you are not absolutely delighted with your fire burning appliance, we will do everything in our power to make it right. It's that simple.

WHERE WE GO

We go where you are.  We'll meet with you to discuss your project across a kitchen table or in a board room. We climb up onto roofs and crawl around in attics and basements.  We also welcome you to visit our showroom in Montrose, Colorado, if you're in the neighborhood (see map on Contact Us page).   Because western Colorado covers a lot of territory, we do too. Just ask if you're wondering whether you are located within our service area.

THE ALPINE STORY

Alpine owner John Pladson received national recognition when Alpine was featured on the cover of Hearth & Home Magazine (December 2008), but the story begins back in 1994, when he was asked to install his first three fireplaces while working as a timber framer in the Telluride and Mountain Village area.  In August 1995 John formed a partnership with Mikell Dew and started Alpine Stove & Fireplace.

Safely bringing fire into someone's home demands specialized know-how that complies with all state and local safety codes, as well as manufacturers' specifications. John quickly realized how complex an installation could be -- and what a challenge it was to find high quality training and support at that time.  Driven by the vital importance of technical expertise combined with creative problem solving, John took it upon himself to learn exactly how gas and wood burning units worked, as well as how to properly vent them.  It wasn’t long before his hunger for knowledge led him to master the intricacies of design and efficiency that often became the focal point of custom projects.

A lifelong learner, John's uncompromising commitment to strive for perfection in quality and beauty permeates Alpine's culture of continuous improvement today.  Architects, builders and homeowners alike have come to depend on the expertise, professionalism and innovative products offered by Alpine Stove & Fireplace.  Every Alpine team member counts it a privilege to help both longstanding and new customers bring their dreams, designs and creativity safely to life.
